“We believe this new name will reinforce the magazine’s editorial focus on the offshore energy industry,” Mr. Tyril added.
The maiden issue of Oil&Gas Renewables will feature a special report on Aberdeen City and Shire, he said.
Another adjustment to the original plan is that the new magazine will be published quarterly rather than annually.
“We had in mind from the outset an ultimate frequency of once per quarter,” Mr. Tyril said, “but we wanted to build it gradually from a yearly publication. The decision to go straight for the quarterly option came as we considered more closely the pace of change that characterizes the energy industry.”
The composition of the London-based editorial team, meanwhile, remains unchanged.
“What we have is a dream team of journalists with excellent contacts in the global energy business. They've worked for some of the leading newspapers and magazines in the UK and they will be key in helping to make sure we deliver a first class product.”
Mr. Tyril also said that the services of a well-established international distribution channel have been made available for the publication.
MARCH 2012. A magazine scheduled for launch in the summer has been taken back to the drawing board. Changes affecting what was to become the Aberdeen Business Report include the name itself as well as important aspects of the editorial mission, according to publishing firm GlobalOne Press.
